Last night, Adobe announced that it has provided Google and Yahoo! with an optimized Flash player, which could see the content of ShockWave Flash (swf) files.
This is a revolution in the SEO field. Up until now, the Search Engines were blind to the content and code of Flash parts of Web sites. All they could see were the links within the Flash. But now, the engines can include the content of Flash sites in their SER’s.
Google is already using the technology, but Yahoo! will implement it with the next update of their Search Engine.
From an SEO point of view, we still recommend building your Web site in an HTML format and using Flash as accents through out the design.
The reason is that although Search Engines will be able to see the content, still it is going to be very difficult to optimize Flash content and pages.
